Welcome to Montana

Located in the wonderful mountains of Northwest Montana. Home to the Huckleberry, Grizzly Bear, Black Bear, Wolves, Cougars, Elk, Deer and other critters that roam the woods.
Where finding work can be a challenge, almost as bad as trying to get a stick of firewood in the middle of the night and not becoming lunch to one of your four legged neighbors..
Home to 275-300 inch snowfall. 80 plus miles round trip to the store for groceries at one of the big stores. Only 28 miles to a smaller local store round trip. Herds of Elk within a short walk. Howling bands of Coyotes at night to keep you company along with the 60 mph freight trains and the train horns. Also an area so quiet you can hear people talking from 500 yards. A huge river called the Clark Fork river with lot’s of fishing and boating. A wide variety of fish to to go after. Many mile of roads and trails get lost on. Plenty of mountains to explore but watch your step..also plenty of places to fall 300 plus feet to your end too. Picture postcard photography is everywhere, bring lot’s of film or memory cards. This little corner of Montana I am speaking of is Heron. Located in Sanders County in the extreme west end. The road to Heron is about mile marker 4 on Highway 200. It is a border town to the great state of Idaho.

I will be including interactive maps for the different areas on my home state of Montana as we cover them. I hope you find them useful. I will try and include maps for each area of discussion so you can take a look and plan your vacation.

We hope to cover most of the main attractions to in the state of Montana, like Glacier Park. Yellowstone Park, Bob Marshall Wilderness and the large rivers. With fly fishing, rafting, boating opportunities that go along with it. We have some really good whitewater for rafting and tubing. We also have some really remote trout fishing if that is what you are looking for.
